Indiana Backs the People Building Here. We’re Grateful — and Our Investors Can Benefit.

There’s a lot of talk these days about where things get built and who gets to build them. In Indiana, the state has done something practical about it. It’s called the Venture Capital Investment Tax Credit, and after a long career of starting companies, I can tell you it’s one of the smarter programs I’ve come across.

Here’s the plain version. When someone invests in an eligible early-stage Indiana company, the state hands them a credit against their Indiana taxes worth 25% of what they put in. Not a deduction — a credit, dollar for dollar off what they owe. For woman- and minority-owned businesses, it runs up to 30%. It’s the state saying out loud that it wants private capital flowing to the companies growing jobs, industry, and new markets right here at home.

FiberX is a Qualified Indiana Business under that program. That means investors who back us can claim the credit.

And if you don’t have Indiana tax liability — say you’re investing from out of state — the benefit doesn’t just vanish. Indiana lets these credits be transferred, and there’s an open marketplace where they can be sold. So the value is real whether you file your taxes here or somewhere else.

One practical note, because it genuinely matters: an investor has to apply to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and get their investment plan approved before the money goes in. You can’t do it after the fact. That’s exactly why it pays to start the conversation early rather than late.

I want to thank the folks at the IEDC and the state legislature for building this and funding it. Programs like this don’t get many headlines, but they’re often the difference between an idea staying an idea and an idea becoming a plant, a payroll, and a new market for Indiana corn. That’s the business we’re in — turning post-harvest corn residue into fiber and chemical feedstocks that American manufacturers can actually use and afford. The state making it easier for people to invest in that work is something worth being grateful for, and worth talking about.

So if you’ve been thinking about FiberX — what we’re building, where we’re headed, and whether you want a part of it — the tax credit is one more reason to pick up the phone. We’re always glad to talk with serious, qualified investors. Reach us at investment@fiberxproducts.com.
