FiberX Selected to Pitch at 2025 International Biomass Conference & Expo

We’re excited to announce that FiberX has been selected as one of just six innovative companies to pitch to a panel of angel investors and venture capital firms at the upcoming International Biomass Conference & Expo in Atlanta, Georgia (March 18-20, 2025).

A Platform for Biomass Innovation
The International Biomass Conference & Expo, now in its 18th year, is the largest and fastest-growing event of its kind, expected to draw approximately 1,000 attendees and more than 170 exhibitors. Being chosen to participate in the pitch competition from a large pool of applicants is both an honor and a testament to the groundbreaking work our team has been doing in the sustainable materials space.

“There are countless innovations happening in the biomass industry,” said John Nelson, chief operating officer at Biomass Magazine, the event organizer. “Giving companies the opportunity to pitch new technology to investors is a prime example of how Biomass Magazine is committed to the overall growth and success of the biomass industry.”

Our Vision for a Sustainable Future
At FiberX, we’re transforming the way industries think about agricultural harvest residue. Our focus is on corn stover – the stalks, leaves, cobs, and husks left after corn harvest – which represents the world’s largest agricultural by-product. Through our innovative processes, we’re upcycling this abundant resource into high-performance materials that can significantly reduce dependency on petroleum and wood-based products.

During our pitch, we’ll be showcasing:

  • Our Automated Processing Technology: How we’ve successfully developed systems to efficiently process baled corn stover into versatile microfibers
  • Biocomposite Breakthrough: Our biocomposite plastics that are twice as strong and rigid as traditional materials, while reducing polymer shrinkage and cost
  • Multiple Market Applications: How our technology creates novel feedstocks for the chemical, plastics, and molded pulp packaging industries
  • Environmental Impact: Our contribution to reducing reliance on non-renewable resources by displacing synthetic polymers
  • Growth Strategy: Our vision for scaling production and expanding market reach

From Cornfield to Chemical Innovation
What sets FiberX apart is our integrated approach – we’re both an agribusiness and a biochemical products company. This dual focus allows us to control our supply chain from farm to finished product, ensuring quality and sustainability at every step.

“Being selected for this pitch competition validates our belief that agricultural residues represent an enormous untapped resource for industrial materials,” says Dave Skibinski, President and CEO of FiberX. “We’re not just creating eco-friendly alternatives – we’re developing products that perform better than their petroleum-based counterparts while reducing costs for manufacturers.”

Our Chief Technology Officer, Tom Santelli, adds: “The biomass industry is at a turning point, with increasing demand for sustainable alternatives across multiple sectors. FiberX is positioned to lead this transformation with our innovative approach to utilizing corn stover, benefiting farmers, manufacturers, and the environment.”
